Asset integrity & Fitness for service

The client, an Operator of an aging Asset in the North Sea UKCS, had significant issues with erosion/corrosion in their Water Injection pipework.  miSolutions were tasked with performing a series of API 579 Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 assessments depending on damage location and severity.  These assessments allowed the operator to safely continue to operate their WI pipework until they could fabricate and install replacement pipe spools in a planned and controlled manner.  The models were generated using in-house software which translated the inspection data (Excel corrosion map) on to pipework geometry.  In the below example a Level 3 Assessment, following the procedures for an Elastic/Plastic assessment, was required to demonstrate continued Fitness for Service.
